The day after tomorrow is Black Friday. One of our biggest wishes is to encourage everyone to make well-considered choices. Thus, we have decided to close our online store for a day, and we are also part of Weecos’ annual Bright Friday campaign. One of our biggest wishes is to encourage everyone to make well-considered choices.
Here is a small checklist for the weekend!
Buy Less & Use Longer
In general, we need to consume less. Reconsider your needs. Consider carefully whether you need an item, and where and how you are going to use it. This way you purchase items you can use longer than on average.

Buy Higher Quality & Check the Origin
Forget the fast fashion chains and make sure the quality and material meet your expectations 100%. Remember to check the origin of clothing too!
Borrow or Rent
If you are looking for something for a special occasion, consider to borrow or rent. Often we don’t need to buy, especially if we are only going to use the item just once.
Buy Second Hand
There are so many cool second-hand pieces out there! You might end up having even more quality with a second-hand vintage item because they were made in a time where people valued well-made clothing.
Swap or Give Away
It is normal to get bored with some pieces of clothing, and not every purchase is meant to last for decades. Consider organising a clothing swap event with a friend or two. The concept is very easy: everybody brings clothes they no longer want to use, and you can switch or give them away. It is a win-win! You get rid of items you don’t like anymore as well as you get new clothes to fulfil the need of having something new.
Repair
If a seam breaks down, it is relatively easy to make a few stitches by hand if you don’t have a sewing machine. If it something more advanced but the item is a good quality, consider giving the piece of clothing to someone who can repair it or bring it to a repair service.
**
If you want to buy something this weekend, make your choices last! Choose responsible companies and support small local brands. Weecos is a sustainable marketplace, and we recommend to turn to them this Friday and weekend. Weecos donates 10% of their Black Friday sales for protecting the Finnish forests.
We hope you learned something new and let us know your thoughts!
Love,
Ama & Essi
